South Channel Tour

1 HOUR TOUR

Enjoy the scenery and start counting our 30,000 islands on this casual 1 hour tour.

Starting from the marina and heading South under the historic Wasauksing Swing Bridge through 2 mile narrows to 5 mile bay past the Osprey nest and through Devils Elbow and further till you get a glimpse of the area called Sans Souci and note just how vast the open waters of Georgian Bay really are.

Throughout your tour you will note cottages from tiny cabins to big fancy ones – imagine the effort required to get building materials on site!

Your return trip has a few detours - see if you can spot the overlaps. Bring your camera but try to sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch for wildlife – loons, ducks, bears, deer, moose and other wildlife may just make an appearance!

$250 one to four passengers, additional passengers $60 each.

Think you’d like a quick island stop before heading back?

We can add in a unique half hour stop at LeBlancs Sans Souci Marina & LCBO outlet for a cone or a snack.

1 HOUR & 15 MINUTE TOUR

Heading North from the Marina through the Little Sound you’ll pass the Salt docks where lake freighters can, on occasion, be seen dropping their cargo of Ontario mined salt for trucking to various road maintenance facilities.

Next are the Town docks and Bob’s Point.

Once out into the Parry Sound aka the ‘Big Sound’ you’ll head west along the shore of Parry Island to where the rainbow trout farm net markers can be seen at the entrance to Depot Harbour History of Depot Harbour then you’ll head north across the open water towards Hole Island and Huckleberry Island – then through the Hole in the Wall.

Once passing through you will continue round Huckleberry Island itself Past Totem Pole Bay (a popular camping spot) and towards Sawdust Bay before rounding back past Elizabeth Island and heading South past the Coast Guard Center – home port of the Ice breaker CCGS Samuel Risley.
